Parkway Place – Our Mission
At Parkway Place, we believe that a church ought to be a community of believers that is…
- God-honoring
- Biblically functioning
- Christ focused
- Holy Spirit empowered
Parkway Place’s ability to be this kind of church is directly related to what we understand to be our mission and ultimately our dependency upon God and obedience to go with Him. And that’s really our mission: to develop Fully Devoted Followers (FDF) of Jesus Christ!
Parkway Place’s mission is based on:
- The Great Commission
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20
- The Great Commandment
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39
What You Can Expect
The only thing we’ll ask of you is simple: to relax
You’re with friends. Whether you’ve been here hundreds of times or just today, whether you’re a seasoned church veteran or you’ve never been in church before, you can anticipate an encouraging and enlightening experience. Our services are designed to be relevant, enjoyable and meaningful.
Whatever your circumstances — single, married, single again, with or without children — and no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done — you matter to God. And to us.
What You’ll Find
Exciting Children’s Center
As you enter the home for children’s ministry at Parkway Place you are entering a whimsical world created just for children. What kid wouldn’t want to go to a park? The “Park at Parkway Place” offers spaces designed for each age level from birth through 6th grade.
A Place Just For Students
Hardcore For Christ (HFC) – that’s our student ministry. Through Sunday morning Quest Groups, Wednesday Night Alive, Hang Nights, and other seasonal events, our 7th through 12th grade students develop their faith with a balance of worshipping, connecting, growing, serving, and reaching.
BodyLife Prime Time
That’s what we call our Sunday morning adult Bible classes. The components of BodyLife are friends, truth, and life and represent our belief that every BodyLife Prime Time group is the best first place to make friends and hear biblical truth for positive life change.
Two Worship Venues
“Celebration” meets in the main worship center. There is a full band and the sermon is “live.” “Passion” offers a smaller setting. You’ll get the same message video-cast on screen and the musical style is acoustical.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Music
In general, our music style is designed to appeal to the majority of attenders…but we realize God is the one and only audience. Since there is no such thing as Christian music — only Christian lyrics — we sing choruses, scripture songs and hymns.
- Dress Code
Our dress code is that there is no dress code. Not everyone likes to dress up for church and that’s fine by us. After all, it’s not your wardrobe we’re interested in seeing. It’s YOU! Come causal – just as you are.
- How Do I Know Where to Go?
Our greeters are some of the most friendly and helpful people in the city – they will answer your questions and help you and your family find your class and your way around. You’ll never be embarrassed or made to stand out. Relax and join us!
